While pirate bay is not the oldest torrent site in the world, it is one of the most well-known. Suprnova.org, which was established in 2003, ranked fourth, followed by isohunt and Demonoid.
Suprnova In 2002, a Slovenian student created this torrent site. Suprnova.org was the most well-known BitTorrent search engine across the world until it was shut down in 2004 due to numerous legal filings. In 2007, piratebay bought its domain name and relaunched it as piratebay.com.
isoHunt Launched in January 2003, isoHunt was one of the most sought-after torrent sites, enjoying millions of visitors every month and cataloging about 14 petabytes of torrents. However, the site was shut down in 2013 after losing a legal battle against conglomerates of several holders of intellectual property rights.
Demonoid, which was founded in 2003, is still operational, albeit its future is uncertain. This is due to the numerous lawsuits filed by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and copyright authorities over time as well as the lengthy outages that have occurred. Furthermore, it’s been claimed that Demonoid’s creator died leaving it vulnerable.
